If you have ever chosen an interior door for your home or office, you have certainly come across the short, slightly mysterious names of lock types: BB, PZ, WC. But what do they mean, and why is it important to know about them before choosing the ideal door lock?
In this article we present the three most common types of interior lock and help you decide which one best suits the function and security needs of the room in question.
The BB lock (also known as a warded lock) is a classic key lock, most often used for traditional interior doors – for example in living rooms and bedrooms. The corresponding key is typically flat and simple in design.
The PZ lock is a universal solution that comes with a cylinder insert (e.g. a security cylinder). It is recommended mainly for rooms where security is more important – for example the doors of studies, storerooms and offices.
The WC lock is a special type designed specifically for bathrooms and toilets. On the inside there is a turn knob, and on the outside an emergency release.
BB, PZ and WC locks all serve different functions and offer different levels of protection and convenience. The lock type is not just a technical detail but a key factor in creating a home that works well and is safe in the long term.
Don't let the hidden world of doors remain a secret – choose consciously!
